Where can i learn draft pattern to make my clothes?

I know how to sew ,i been sewing from pattern , i got a sewing machine and i want to make clothes with my own design ,but the thing is I dont know how to make pattern , and i want so bad .please anybody knows good sites that teaches

Excellent summary from Linda S. If you don’t have major fitting issues to contend with, the easiest thing for those of us who sew at home to do is to find a good pattern to use as the basis for what you want to do (a “block” in patternmaking terms) and then go on from there. Typically, the first things you learn are moving darts, altering the shape of outside edges of details like collars and cuffs, and then go on from there.

Connie Crawford (the author of Patternmaking Made Easy) has some really basic patterns on her website and also released through Butterick that are really basic blocks intended for redesign. Take a look at B5222, B5403, B5300, B5215, B5538 and B5574. In addition, on her website, she offers a set of knit blocks (which are quite hard for beginners to do correctly): http://www.fashionpatterns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=76 as well as basic patternmaking supplies. When I’m not making custom patterns for someone with difficult fitting issues, I almost always start with one of Crawford’s basics and save my self a ton of time and drafting. These patterns have been balanced and trued (most people don’t balance their patterns and it makes a HUGE difference in how things hang).

After you get through with Crawford’s books, you can go on to Aldrich and also Jack Handford’s titles.

Draping (which is the method you often see on Project Runway), tends to be a more advanced set of skills… classes are very difficult to find. I learned the basics from Crawford in a quick class (it’s all about grainline!) and from her book, Art of Fashion Draping. If you’ve a yen to try draping, you must have either a mannequin that can be pinned into or a live victim who doesn’t mind the occasional pin-poke.
